I am Patricia Abokede. I help parents, educators, and organizations create safe, emotionally healthy environments where children and families can thrive through trauma-informed education, child protection, and family life training.

Patricia Abokede is a Developmental Psychologist, Registered Public Health Nurse, Family Life Educator, Child Protection Advocate, Author, and Social Impact Leader dedicated to helping children, families, and communities thrive. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Pabokede Initiative for Child Protection and Family Life Education, a nonprofit organization committed to preventing child abuse, strengthening families, and promoting trauma-informed parenting and child protection across Africa.

Driven by a deep passion for breaking intergenerational cycles of abuse and trauma, Patricia designs and delivers evidence-based training, community education programs, and leadership initiatives that empower parents, educators, caregivers, professionals, and organizations to create safe, emotionally healthy environments where children can flourish.

Patricia holds a B.Sc. in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Ibadan. She is also a Registered Nurse, Midwife, and Public Health Nurse, bringing together expertise in psychology, healthcare, education, and community development to address child and family well-being from a holistic perspective.

Her work has directly impacted more than 1,600 children, parents, and educators through child protection campaigns, parenting education, school-based interventions, and community outreach programs. She has built strategic partnerships with government institutions, schools, civil society organizations, and media organizations to expand access to child protection education and strengthen safeguarding systems.

As an author, Patricia has written four books focused on child protection and positive parenting, including Breaking the Cycle: Parenting Guide and Safe and Smart Colouring Adventure, resources that are now used in training programs and community education initiatives. She is also a contributor to the English–Igbo Glossary of HIV, AIDS and Ebola-Related Terms, a project led by Herbert Igboanusi and Boniface M. Mbah ad supported by TETFund.

Patricia is passionate about leadership development, digital empowerment, and organizational capacity building. She is a Microsoft AI Trainer, a WiDB Certified Digital Trainer, a certified Marriage and Family Mentor through TIMFA USA, and has completed professional leadership training through the University of Washington. Her experience also spans customer success, digital training, monitoring and evaluation, program design, and stakeholder engagement. Beyond her professional achievements, Patricia's life journey has shaped her unwavering commitment to helping others heal, grow, and lead. She believes every child deserves safety, every family deserves hope, and every community has the capacity to break harmful cycles through education, compassion, and collective action. Through speaking engagements, coaching, training, research, writing, and advocacy, Patricia continues to equip individuals and institutions with practical, evidence-based tools that strengthen families, protect children, and build resilient communities across Africa and beyond.
